The schools in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference submitted several of their old football keepsakes for the props in this painting. Some schools had kept quite a bit of old memorabilia and some schools had very little. Gustavus Adolphus, Hamline University and surprisingly, Macalester, contributed the most unique items for this piece. The oldest item may have been the small Macalester megaphone. The small black and white drawing that appears on the Artist Proofs for this edition was a sketch I did of the wall relief on the St. Thomas Football stadium.
